- The ocean research laboratories at Tyholt in Trondheim were established in 1937, and have been expanded a number of times since then. Since 2005 the knowledge environments and industry have worked with purpose to upgrade and modernise the laboratories. The general aim has been, and is, to realise a centre that will ensure value creation for Norway through competitive Norwegian ocean space industries. Ocean Space Centre (OSC) is a joint name for the marine laboratories.
