- The purpose of the acquisition is to restore and improve the condition of selected ponds and wetland areas in the municipality of Oslo. There are several ponds in the municipality of Oslo who are in danger of growing again, and the restoration needs increase every year. Filling and overgrowth of ponds is the greatest threat to amphibians nationally and locally. Restoration of ponds and wetland areas will have more positive effects for other biodiversity such as water plants, birds, bats, water -related insects and other invertebrates. Restoration of ponds will also contribute to climate adaptation and other ecosystem services.
