The Defense Research Institute (FFI) is a civil research institution directly under the Ministry of Defense. The company has over 850 employees, of which approx. 550 are researchers and engineers who develop technology and knowledge to enable Norway to have a timely and effective defense. The institute is interdisciplinary and covers subjects such as mathematics, physics, information technology, chemistry, biology, medicine, psychology, political science and economics. The institute is located at Kjeller at Lillestrøm, and has a smaller working unit at Karljohansvern in Horten. For more information see: The Defense Research Institute (FFI). The acquisition applies to the framework agreement Safety -critical design. The purpose of the procurement is to ensure access to a professional consultancy service with support and expertise in the design and realization of digital and physical products and services for the defense sector.
