Alta Airport K-193019 PFAS measures and clean-up discontinued BØF construction contract The work includes excavation with external disposal of masses, after excavation to elevation 0. The disused fire training field is located outside on Nautsneset, and is surrounded by sea on all sides. The training field is located on elevation 2, and the proximity to the sea means that the groundwater level is greatly affected by tidal variations. Alternative measures could result in the removal of an estimated significant amount of PFAS (35.9 kg) within a mass volume of 19,300 m3. It the practical implementation of the measure can roughly be divided into three phases: • Phase 1: Preparatory phase, before the handling of contaminated masses starts. • Phase 2: Excavation phase, with external disposal of contaminated masses. • Phase 3: Return phase, incl demolition and restoration measures.
