Description:
BME EEA 2025-01 - Møllendal river park - general contractor Møllendalselven is 1.4 km long, and flows from Svartidiket to Store Lungegårdsvannet. The river is open for the last 500 m, and is today the only river course that flows openly into Store Lungegårdsvann. The Møllendal river will improved and arranged for a rich animal and plant life above and below water. The river will be made more accessible and the river park will be developed as an activity and recreation area with a new bridge, promenades, places, viewpoints and areas that provide access to the water. The project also includes arrangements for separation in the sewage network, as well as adding some new technical infrastructure to support the area's further development in the years to come. Parts of the area were used as open and uncontrolled municipal landfill from 1945 to 1975, and the regulated park areas are located in the edge zone of the old landfill area.
