Description:
BME NOR 2026-08 Universal design measures in the Green Axis Bergen municipality at the Urban Environment Agency must carry out upgrading measures to improve accessibility in The Green Axis. These measures include various locations, more specifically Øvre Ole Bulls plass, Kong Olav Vs plass, Torggaten, Byparken and Festplassen. The upgrading measures will help pedestrians with sight and mobility impairments to move more easily and safely in the Green Axis. This is done by marking pedestrian crossings with tactile slabs, lay tactile slabs over open spaces, upgrade street lighting, adjust submerged curbs, create transition lanes and install benches. It also includes removing some street lighting and installing multi-masts for better lighting of the pedestrian zones King Olav V's place. The measures encroach closely on trees and high-value natural stone pavements.
