Description:
Vestland county municipality at Bybanen Utbygging oversees the expansion of the Bybanen in Bergen, and has initiated planning for construction stage 5 from the center of Bergen to Asane. The fifth construction stage runs from the center through Asane to Vagsbotn. The line is realized in two construction stages: The first stage is approx. 2.5 km double track fromcity center to Amalie Skrams vei (Sandviken) with a possible opening in 2029. The next stage is approx. 10 km. Double track from Amalie Skrams vei to Asane, and with a possible opening in 2039. This stage also includes a depot and a public transport terminal in Asane. The light rail route connects to the existing route in Kaigaten where it etaa new stop will be made. The route continues in Christies gate, Smastrandsgaten, Torget, Bryggen and Sandbrogaten. From Sandbrogaten, the rail route goes into a tunnel to Sandviken and a stop in the mountains by Sandviken church, and on towards Amalie Skrams vei. In connection with the development of the Bybanen to Asane skAll reading sheds are acquired for the stops in the first stage, including:• Kaigaten• Torget• Sandbrogaten• Sandvikskirken• Amalie Skrams vei.
