Short description: In Nord-Troms and Finnmark, there are great opportunities for sustainable business development that will benefit the whole country. Within the green energy, seafood and tourism industries, the region has a solid basis for increased profitability and value creation in a sustainable way. However, the biggest challenge is the recruitment of the right competence for all these initiatives, both for private and for the necessary service production and development work in the public sector. The Finnmark Council is now working broadly with the follow-up of the findings in the Varanger = development report. In housing policy, business development and social development, a number of initiatives are initiated where the main goal is significant moving in young people to the region, to ensure sustainable societies in the future as well. However, a challenge that lies as a basic obstacle to the work is precisely that young people outside the action zone (Nord-Troms and Finnmark) are largely not aware of the benefits the personalized measures in the action zone provide.
