- There has been a ferry system over Husøysundet since the end of the 19th century. Tønsberg municipality has operated this ferry for most of the time, with the exception of a few years from 2012 where operations ceased as a result of savings. A major need for a ferry system in the local community meant that the ferry Ole III has been in operation in the summer seasons since 2017. Tønsberg municipality is now seeking to replace OLE III
