- The pond was built - 1915-1916. 1989 - Saltdal municipality has taken over the pond with the accompanying pipeline network for municipal water supply to Vensmoen. Closed down in 2008.The pond is no longer in function. Dam - break consequences class 2, does not satisfy the current security requirements. Considerable sentences under the downstream wall have been proven. Cause is unknown. After an order from the NVE, measures shall be established for permanent securing of the pond against dam breaks. The existing dam construction is 11.5 high and 37 m long. The width at the top is approx. 2.2 m. Dry-walled pond with frontal sealing in reinforced concrete. Cast iron railings at the dam crown. Valve chamber with shaft (approx. 3 x 3 m) in reinforced concrete on the upstream side. The manoeuvrability rate for the valves (2 pcs) is approx. 3x3m. Manoeuvring rate for a tap hatch at the bottom - next to the valve chamber.
