The automation plant lacks access to critical spare parts and emergency stations connected to the tunnel have exceeded their service life. Existing facilities are old and complex, this entails a high risk of errors and system failure. The upgrade project must be carried out without significantly affecting existing facilities. The E39 Fl0yfjell tunnel is located in Bergen municipality and is the main traffic artery from the north and east to the center of Bergen. Southern run (towards the city centre) was opened to traffic in 1989 and has a length of 3195 metres. The northern run (from the city centre) was opened to traffic in 1988 and has a length of 3,825 metres. Year-round traffic (ADT) for the tunnel was approx. 48,000 in 2024. Work to be carried out (not exhaustive): New automation system, new emergency power supply and new emergency stations must be established and commissioned before the old plant can be removed. The automation system must have the capacity to handle the complete tunnel installation. A new emergency power system must be established at new technical rooms which are supplied directly from the respective grid station, with new subscriptions. New guideways will be established from the new emergency power room to the new pipes in the new banquette in the tunnel. - Documents:
