Description:
E6 Badderen bridge
A new permanent bridge will be built on the E6 over the Badder River in Kvænangen municipality, after the bridge from 1986 was completely damaged in flood in the spring of 2022 and had to be demolished. The traffic in the area today crosses temporary roads with Interimsbru. This is dismantled and removed by the bridge preparedness department of the Norwegian Public Roads Administration when a new bridge opens. In order to be able to safeguard soft road users satisfactorily, pedestrian and bicycle paths must be established from the Sætra residential area and across the Badder River. Based on the assumptions of a more robust solution with expected low maintenance costs, while the river column can be carried out in a robust way, the choice for use concept has fallen on tensioned concrete plate bridge in two tension. Both a new bridge and a new water system are dimensioned for 200-year floods. Road lighting is upgraded with light over the bridge. New bridge and road will be in the same route as existing roads and bridges. The road is built with a hay standard and width of 7.5 m incl. Shoulder, as well as width on pedestrian and bicycle paths of 3 m incl. Shoulder. A speed limit is added 60 km/h.
