Short description: The adjustment system is a directorate for measurement technique subject to the Ministry of Trade and Fisheries (NFD). The adjustment service must ensure that Norway has a measurement technical infrastructure that has both national and international trust. Key tasks for the adjustment service is to safeguard national measurement references for the international unit system for the measurement of physical sizes (SI system), perform various forms of supervision, certifications, calibrations and participate in research collaboration on the metrologi field. The rapid technological development also applies to the measurement technology area. This entails, among other things. The fact that new measurement methods are used in business and research, and that measurements are important in new areas. The department wants an assessment of the benefit of that measurements in natural resource management, emissions and energy are regulated in the measurement technical regulations and supervision of the adjustment service or others.
