Description : As a part of its landslide management efforts, NVE maps the risk of avalanches, slush avalanches, rock falls, rock slides, landslides, debris flows, etc. on behalf of the government c.f. Plan for landslide hazard mapping (NVE 14/2011).
In regards to this, the NVE annually outsources the assignment of performing landslide hazard mapping in selected populated areas. The assignments are split between two public actors, the municipality can include option areas in addition to the main assignments (A) from NVE. NVE will pay for the main assignments (A), whilst the municipality shall pay for any option areas (B, C etc.). NVE will also pay for the sub-assignment independent quality assurance (Norwegian: KS).
