Description : The Agency for Water and Wastewater Services (Norwegian abbreviation: VAV) in Oslo is renovating
20 km water pipes per annum. In order to ensure that the right pipe is renovated at the right time, VAV needs a good system for condition assessment of water pipes. VAV needs a technological system for assessing the condition of metal water pipes The system must be user-friendly and cost efficient and must have the least possible impact on daily operations.
The system must also detect internal and external corrosion with a high level of precision. For example, measurements of the average thickness are not considered as a sufficient indicator for condition assessment.
The system should also be suitable for pipe dimensions down to 150 mm.
The system must be suitable to be used without excavation or other major measures on the pipe or basin for the system that shall be led into pipes The system must be led through a fire water valve ((DN100 90o bend).
