- Media conversion of dental records. PURPOSE AND SCOPE Helseetaten is Oslo municipality's specialist agency in the area of health. The dental health service - which is part of the National Health Service - offers dental health services to various groups in the population, including children and young people, young adults, the elderly, the long-term ill, people with mental retardation and drug users. The Norwegian Health Authority needs media conversion of the dental health service's patient records. There are approximately 102,000 patient records from Oslo's public dental health service. The deviations from this estimate may occur. As of today, the material is stored in temporary premises in Storgata in Oslo. Part of the archive is arranged and packed in archive boxes/moving boxes which are placed on large pallets. Some of the material is together with casts in plaster stored in filing cabinets. The purpose of the media conversion is to replace paper-based records with full-fledged digital copies. After digitization and completed quality control, it should be possible to look up the material, so that the originals on paper can be shredded. The digitized records must be deposited with the Oslo City Archives in accordance with the requirements the City Archives sets for digital archive material.
