Tenders are invited to surveillance of GPS via AIS
Short description: The Coastal Administration and National Communication Authority (Nkom), hereinafter referred to as the Customer, collaborate on discovering, notifying and discouraging interference on global satellite navigation systems (GPS) in Norway. There is a need to strengthen the ability to detect on GPS signals in Norwegian sea areas quickly and on a systematic scaled. The customer wants to use AIS signals from vessels in Norwegian sea areas to this. In 2018, Norwegian Space Center received a preliminary study for a concept to detect RFI on GPS and AIS signals - report from pre-project AIS as RFI detector, dated 23 March 2018 (enclosed). The pre-study describes two different detection algorithms to detect RFI, where one algorithm has to detect RFI on the GPS band, while the second algorithm tries to detect RFI on the AIS band. The detection of RFI on the GPS belt is what is now relevant to pilot (referred to as anomaly type one in the preliminary study).
