In 2024, Hitra municipality acquired a commercial building on Kalvøya, with address Hamneveien 8, 7246 Sandstad. Today's use is a car repair shop and office space on two levels. Parts of today's existing building stock are desired to be converted to a new fire station. The work will include demolition and extension, as well as the establishment of a new water facility.
