Description:
The basis for the contest is that Heggen and Stangnes sixth form colleges will merge into one school and be co-located in a new building at a site near the centre of Harstad. The school is designed for 1116 pupils and 207 employees. The gross area is calculated to be approx. 20,000 m2 with a possibility for expansion of up to 10,000 m2. The maximum height of the building is 7 stories (contour +38.5 m). The site for the new school is located in the south of the centre of Harstad, approx. 750 meters walking distance from Byterminalen [The City Terminal] and the train in the city centre. The site is approx. 9900 m2 and has been part of the Harstad Skipsindustri's facilities. The National Association of Norwegian Architects [Norske arkitekters landsforbund (NAL)] is announcing this planning and resign competition on behalf of Troms and Finnmark County Municipality, Organisation number 922 420 866.
