Short Description: The client intends to procure 1 Portable indirect calorimetry apparatus with associated equipment such as hood and mask. Indirect calorimetry is considered a gold standard method for determining the energy consumption of patients in a clinical setting. In order to carry out indirect calorimetry measurements on inpatient cancer patients, we need a portable indirect calorimetry apparatus. The device measures concentration of O2 consumption and CO2 production by allowing patients to get a dome with a cloth attached and added to their heads, then breathe through the appliance. Using this indirect calorimetry technology, we can calculate the patient's actual physical consumption of energy at an individual level.
