The measure is to prepare pre-project and detailed design for future flood protection of the center of Byrkjelo towards 200-year flood. The need for hedging is documented through flood and water line calculation performed by Sweco AS, where the model shows that large parts of the center of Byrkjelo are raised by a 200-year flood. The need is particularly linked to emergency preparedness in the area when the fire station is raw, in addition to the fact that the main fertilizer E39 is also flooded. The detailed design shall include cost estimates and a competitive basis for the announcement of construction contracts.
