- Nordland County has chosen to own its own passenger vessels, 13 in total, which are hired out under contract to relevant shipping companies. The vessels are owned by Fylkesbåtene as. Six of the vessels are of the same type built by GS Marine. This procurement aims to procure new gears and manoeuvring systems for five of these vessels. This applies to: MS Femris MS Sanna, MS Skarstind, MS Stadda and MS Nesøy. A total of ten gears will be procured, as the Faroe Islands are equipped with two engines each. The vessels operate along the coast of northern Norway on year-round routes. The vessels operate over relatively short distances, sometimes with demanding berthing conditions that require a lot of engine, gear and propulsion machinery.
