- Tromsø municipality has decided that alternative 1 from the concept choice review shall form the basis for further engineering design services. The contracting authority plans to construct a new sports building as an expansion of the existing Tromsø hall. This involves the construction of a new large hall for ball sports and the renovation of the existing hall. Tromsøhallen is among the municipality's most utilised sports halls, where sports such as handball, basketball, volleyball and athletics and several facilities, which are used as training and competition arena. The current facilities do not meet the current requirements, and the contracting authority needs these are upgraded in accordance with the current needs so that both the sport of breadth and top sport are safeguarded forward. The hall has limited capacity to cover the needs of a growing population set in light. of Tromsø municipality ́s approved targets for sports offers. The project implementation shall therefore ensure that Pages 1/22 capacity of the hall will be increased and the facilities will be modern.
