Description:
In spring 2023 the Government and QA launched a joint strategy for digital competence and infrastructure in nurseries and schools (2023-2030)[1] (hereafter; The strategy). One of the initiatives in the strategy is "to establish a target orthopaedal research programme on the subject of and on digitalisation and digital competence in the sector". The strategy conveys a desire for the research programme to provide better and more systematic knowledge. In spring 2024 the Ministry of Education and Research gave assignments to the Norwegian Directorate of Education and Research for the establishment of such a research programme, and in autumn 2024 started the Research Programme for digitalisation and digital competence in kindergartens and schools. The research programme shall be a strategic, target orientated and time-limited effort, which shall result in an increased knowledge basis for digitalisation and digital competence in Norwegian nurseries and schools.
