Rev. 7 Mab0dalen II - Tunnel upgrade, Eidsfjord municipality
Mab0dalen is located in Eidsfjord municipality on Rv.7. The tunnels to be upgraded are: • The Kvernhushaug tunnel was opened to traffic in 1983 and is a 542-metre long single-pass tunnel. Tunnel profile T8.5. • The Mab0 tunnel was opened to traffic in 1986 and dates back to 1893 meter long one-way tunnel. Tunnel profile T8.5. • The Storegjel tunnel was opened to traffic in 1980 and is an 842-metre long single-lane tunnel. • The Dalberg Tunnel was opened to traffic in 1967 and is a 335-metre long single-lane tunnel. Tunnel profile T8. ADT in Mab0dalen is approx. 1600, but it is big increased traffic in the summer and a lot of activity in connection with the sight of V0ringsfossen. The tunnels have a steep rise of approx. 8% and small horizontal curvature. In connection with the upgrade of the Laerdal tunnel, an increase in traffic is expected on Rv.7, and we therefore want to increase traffic safety in the tunnels and generally on the stretch. The main work consists of • Establishing a thermal scanner that registers heat in the brakes and engine of heavy vehicles, and when a high temperature is detected on the vehicle, it must lead the vehicle into a staging area for cooling. • Installation of closing points, barriers and red lights. • Assembly of signs and sign hangers. • Digging ditches and laying tractor pipes. • Delivery and installation of emergency stations, emergency control cabinets, escape lights and distribution boards. • Automation. • Camera at barriers. • Counting loop • Street lights.
