  • Situation Analyses and Classification Criteria regarding Dam and Waterway Safety
    The consultancy assignment is a part of a 5-year institutional cooperation (2021-2026) between Electricity Regulatory Authority of Uganda (ERA) and the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE), financed by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad).The cooperation is anchored in a program document and organized in different Cooperation Areas (CAs). This consultancy assignment, and the associated Terms of Reference, is linked to CA3.3, -Safety of Hydropower Dams and Waterways-.CA 3.3 is implemented by ERA and the Ministry of Water and Environment, Directorate for Water Resources Management (DWRM), supported by NVE.ERA and DWRM will develop a regulatory framework for dams and waterways safety management and a classification system for dams and waterways to improve the safety of dams and waterways to enhance the resilience of downstream communities in Uganda.The objective of this assignment is twofold:To map and assess the baseline situation with respect to the regulatory framework for dams and waterways safety so that ERA, DWRM and developing partners can address gaps, wea...
