The Arna - Stanghelle joint project (hereafter "FAS") is a collaborative project between the Norwegian Public Roads Administration and Bane NOR, where a new road and railway will be built between Arna in Bergen municipality and Stanghelle/Helle in Vaksdal municipality. The state regulatory plan for FAS was approved in April 2022. The new road and railway will go through a tunnel with a short daytime zone at Vaksdal. New Road also has a short daytime zone at Trengereid. FAS forms part of the project portfolio of the National Road Administration Development Area West and Bane NOR SF, Division Development, Development Unit Mega Projects.
