Short Description: In 2015, the world leaders agreed on 17 goals for sustainable development (SDG). Given that the goals have been around for about seven years, some measurable progress must have been made. Among the sustainability goals are some indicators to trace progress in meeting the world challenge with pollution of the marine environment through plastic, nutrients, wastewater and other contaminants. Grid-Arendal (www.grida.no) is a Norwegian non-profit foundation specializing on complex environmental issues .. Its task is to support an environmentally sustainable development by communicating information that strengthens the environmental management capacity and motivates decision makers to act. Among other tasks, we seek to track and report progress on central marine pollution indicators under the sustainability goals.
