The purpose of the assignment is to increase the empirical knowledge of how the Norwegian rental market in various areas reacts to price changes in the short and long term (price elasticity). Whether the rental offer responds as rental prices increase is important in the assessment of various political instruments, including to stimulate the rental service and to assess the cyclical fluctuations in the rental market. Knowledge of tender response and elasticities are also relevant to assess the effects of changes in the framework conditions for the rental market. The assignment will help to elucidate the price response in the Norwegian rental market empirically. Although the study is primarily to contribute to empirical knowledge, it should be based on relevant theory of price response and various landlords' adaptation in the market. The providers are free to choose whether they want to address the response to one or more categories of landlords/sub -markets. If the assignment covers several landlords' response response or the entire country, as far as possible, the distinction should be made between different categories of landlords and geographical areas.
