Description:
Data on traffic and travel patterns is a necessary basis for road planning, town and settlement development, toll investigations and other investment decisions in and around the road network. In order to prepare good analyzes in this respect and give a truthful picture of reality, it is necessary to compile data froma several sources. Today, the client has, among other things, counting equipment that measures the number of vehicles that pass certain points along the roads and travel habit data based on surveys. The purpose of having several partly overlapping data sources is twofold: 1. Different data sources supplement each other by providingdifferent types of information or different levels of detail in each area. 2. Several data sources make it possible to validate results where several sources say the same thing or to highlight uncertainty where there is no agreement between the sources. Based on these purposes and the data sources that already existavailable, the client sees a need to acquire data from GPS units in vehicles or similar. The basis for the data is then accurate information about journeys, with speed, turning movements at intersections and from-to journey patterns. The client wants access to historical travel data in a subscription solutionwith unlimited withdrawals for areas in the counties. The client has investigated the market, and considers that only Ramb0ll Norge AS can deliver a solution for mobility data from GPS or similar devices.
