Description:
In March 2026 three monitoring activities shall be announced that deal with littering: Mapping litter littering in the seabed in coastal areas: The assignment involves mapping the amount and type of littering on the seabed at 13 selected areas along the Norwegian coast by using underwater cameras. At each area the amount and type of littering shall be registered at approx. 150 straight transcts with a length of 100 m and approx. 5 metres wide. Data from the photo/video shall be closely reviewed and all garbage items shall be registered. The assignment will last for a 5 year period and it has a total estimated value of NOK 5,000,000. Littering along river banks: The assignment involves field work (spring/autumn) where suitable segments for monitoring litter along Norwegian rivers shall be assessed. The assignment will take place in 2026 and has an estimated value of NOK 700,000. Littering on urban beaches in inner Oslofjord: The assignment involves field work where urban beaches shall be registered for littering. The assignment will take place in 2026 and it has an estimated value of NOK 500,000.
